Being Seen in Different Ways
It’s very fun having a blog – I’ve suddenly got somewhere to put down some of the things I’ve been thinking about my job for years. I’m off work this week after minor surgery for an injury I sustained at an art-nude shoot (extraordinary! Makes me feel dedicated.) so I’ve had time to look through my pictures, plan some future shoots, and blog about what’s in my head. I’m really missing work, which makes me feel kind of lucky to like my job as much as I do.
Anyway, one of the shoots I’m planning is with a photographer I’ve only had the chance to work with twice, but who I really love to shoot with. Here’s a link to his work at homepage.mac.com/gravenimage/PhotoAlbum60.html and here are some of his pictures of me from last time we worked.

It’s probably vile of me to be so interested in pictures of myself, but I like looking at them. Scott’s pictures are much more highly-coloured than most of the artistic nude work that I do, and probably a fair bit more sexual feeling. I really like them – I don’t really recognise myself in them very much, which makes me like them more (I suppose everyone gets a bit bored of themselves sometimes) and I like the idea of the kind of person who looks like that. Sort of confrontational, and much stronger than I normally look, I think.
Sometimes I wonder if modelling is a weird unofficial kind of out-of-body therapy for me. If so, Scott F Hill is a great therapist. I’m excited about working with him again!

Sorry to hear about the injury Joceline, I hope it is very minor surgery and you are back on top form and working again soon! x
Very much like the dark haired look Joceline and love these shots. Do get well soon, I’m sure we’re all thinking of you.
Excellent pictures of you (are there any other kind?) but interesting as well. The use of colour is amazing, is much of it down to post processing?
Get well soon!
Hello Joceline,
I stumbled onto your name while researching a studio lighting course, clicked few few links through intrigue and found your website, and was entranced.
I’d just like to say that you are the most astonishingly beautiful lady, and I wish you every success. There’s also something about the words on your website that make me think you are a lady with an intellect, and a discrimination and judgement that are uncommon.
Interesting thoughts – I can certainly see what you mean about the sense of ‘otherness’ gleaned from such work.
Congratulations, by the way, on your latest video work – you were super – and looking forward to a the ‘under canvas’ days ahead next week
Hey Joss!
I just remembered you said you had a blog, so I came to find it. The pics do look quite different–in a good way!
